Walker’s Earthworks has been around since 1970 when it was established by Roy Walker, a local to the Hamilton area. Following Roy’s passing in 1984, his son Butch Walker took over the business he’d been working in himself since the age of 15. Butch and his wife Susie now run Walker’s Earthworks, however, you won’t find Butch sitting behind a computer or balancing the books. He’s still more likely to be found at the controls of a grader, dozer, or excavator. Keeping things in the family, Butch and Susie’s son-in-law Tom Barber is now heavily involved, managing the Quarry, Estimating, and Quoting.
Since being established in 1970, Walker’s has grown to become a well-established business, while maintaining the down-to-earth, family environment that has made it so successful. The business now employs 16 staff and continues to grow its reputation in the earthmoving, construction, and civil works industries.

The business encompasses the quarry, which provides crushed rocks, road-making materials, topsoils, and a huge range of other aggregates. The mixes are VicRoads accredited, making Walker’s the go-to supplier for high-quality materials.
In addition, there’s the earthworks and excavating side of the business which specialises in civil construction, road building, site cuts, land clearing, and much more. With a passion for helping clients complete their projects on time and under budget, Walker’s has developed a strong reputation in the industry.
